Life in France: Day 7

Day 7, September 30th

Finally, the weekend is here and I can relax. To an extent.

At the very least, I’m sleeping in tomorrow. Nothing will stop me from that.

I don’t have much to report about how work went, so I’ll just jump from section to section. Such as Lunch. I found a Subway only about two minutes away from my work place; I know where I’m getting lunch from now on – for a decent price, no less.

After work, Kujtesa and I spent a little time in town and each had an ice cream, before going our separate ways.

I saw this on a random wall in the outskirts of the city center. Awesome, much?

Upon getting back to the apartment, I helped Melanie prepare dinner, as she had seven friends coming by. The night passed pretty well; they talked to me more than the people at the barbecue on Saturday. We had baked potatoes and a little grill. They all kept using it to melt cheese to put on their potatoes (I swear, they ate over a kilo of cheese), while I just ate mine… bland. They also didn’t eat the potato skins. Huh. I felt awkward. I ate the skins and didn’t eat cheese. I wonder if there’s a connection?

There was an epic conversation, during dinner.

“What’s for dessert?”

“Cheese.”

“After that?”

“Ice cream. With cheese,” he says while sipping his red wine.

The best part? True story!

They all had red wine and I had orange juice – in a wine glass. Too awesome for words.

Tonight, I will be sleeping a lot and then tomorrow afternoon, Melanie and I are off to a chocolate festival of sorts. It’s in a castle and there’s free chocolate and chocolate sculptures and all that fun stuff. That sounds like a good place for pictures and a blogging topic, if I do say so myself.

Time to cut this short; it’s almost midnight and sleep is calling. Lots and lots of sleep. Stay safe, everyone, and tune in tomorrow! Who knows what will happen throughout the day?
