Who are your favourite authors?
That’s a difficult question! There are so many amazing authors out there that I don’t think I could name them all. At the very least, my tastes generally lay in the various sub-genres of Fantasy. So, to suit that, here are a couple of authors whose work I enjoy reading:
- Ilona Andrews
- Jeaniene Frost
- Jenna Black
- Mark Lawrence
- J.K. Rowling
- Sarah J. Maas
- Lemony Snicket
You’ll also find me reading some mythological tales, crime stories, manga, as well as books about the history of Ancient Egypt. Overall, I read a bit of everything.
What are your favorite books?
My favorite books? Now that is a hard question. Since I listed my favorite authors before, here’s a small list of book not written by those authors, but are books that I greatly enjoy reading.
- Sign of The Crescent by Debbie Federici
- Asphodel by Lauren Hammond
- Dragon Rider by Cornelia Funke
Some childhood favorites are Green Eggs and Ham, Matilda, and Charlotte’s Web.
What inspired you to become a writer?
I’ve always had a fondness for reading, so at a young age, I started scribbling down little tales of my own. I still remember the first story I wrote, but that’s a story for another day!
There was a phase when I stopped writing and then when I was twelve, I started writing fan fiction about some of my favorite mangas and animes. It helped me learn and sparked that interest in creating my own stories. By the time I was fifteen, I moved on to working on original stories.
The rest, as they say, is history.
Where do you see yourself in the future?
I see myself as an author. Traditionally published or self-published doesn’t matter. I see myself getting out there and having people who enjoy reading the tales I weave with my words, who enjoy the characters I breathe life into, and who feel the emotions of these characters as I put them through terrifying hardships.
I will write for as long as I can. I will hold on to this passion for as long as I can. Plenty of ideas are in my head. In the coming years, they’ll begin to take form.
