Friday Fortune #3

Welcome to the third edition of Friday Fortune!

What is Friday Fortune? On Wednesdays and Sundays, my posts are generally serious and focus on specific aspects of writing or even life in general. Fridays are here to mix it up a bit. On Fridays, you’ll be surprised with giveaways, free snippets, general questions, and so much more! If you have any suggestions for questions I could ask or things I could do; let me know so we can make this interactive!

This week, I’ve decided to get to know all of you a bit better! So, here’s my question to you:

What’s your favorite genre?

It could be for books, for movies, for music, or anything else you can think of!

Personally, I love the darker genres of fantasy, including paranormal and urban fantasy. A little thriller or horror never goes wrong, either; not to mention a bit of crime or psychological stories.

So, what’s your favorite? And while you’re at it, why not mention a couple of books in that genre, that you like? I’m looking to broaden my reading tastes.

Tune in next week for whatever I have up my sleeve for you in edition four of Friday Fortune.

  1. My particular favourite genre is crime, with writers such as Ian Rankin, John Grisham and Mary Higgens-Clarks being my favourite return to authors. Simply they are easy yet gripping reads. I have just finished The Next Accident by Lisa Gardner – most definitely a ‘must read.’

  2. I like comic novels, such as Nick Hornby’s or Helen Fielding’s. The plays of Shakespeare, Alan Ayckbourn, Neil Simon. And classic horror fiction, especially the ghost stories of M.R. James

  3. For Movies, I like classic comedies like My Man Godfrey. For Books, I like technical books for programming languages. For music, I like too many different kinds, it would be easier to tell you what I don’t like… I don’t like music using bad language.
