My 5,000 word plan for this weekend failed. At 304 words, it wasn’t a complete failure, but I gained nowhere near as many as I originally intended.
However, that does not mean that all is in vain!
Those 304 words helped me get past a part that had stopped me from writing and now the end is near. To get this done sooner and catch up on my word count, my friend Elisa and I will be having a special word war week!
Tuesday through Friday, we’ll be having word wars together to get words on paper and get closer to our goals of finishing our stories – for me, my novel, Tales of The Forbidden, and for her, her novella, New Fate.
It feels like the end is so close. A couple decent writing sessions will put me so close to the end. I can see the finish line looming in the horizon, with my deadline following closely behind.
Nothing will stop me from completing this novel by December 31st. Not Christmas, not college, not work – not anything.
This week’s word wars will come in handy in getting large amounts of my last 15k written. After that, the end lingers just beyond.
It’s time to go for it.

On one hand, hell yeah! Do it! On the other hand, I’m ultra-Zen about deadlines. If you have to pass the deadline from circumstances, that’s okay. Everything happens for a reason. I’ll be cheering you (both!) on to reach your goal in a flurry of words, but always remember that deadlines can be extended. 😉

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve already extended this deadline. It’s about time for me to stick to one!
Thank you! 🙂
